Watermelon is soft from outside when I touch it and there is a hole on it

The watermelons are about two and a half months. I saw signs of melon flies, but the the plants are completely defoliated before maturity, fruits are rotting and the leafs show some spots before drying out. What could be the problem

Abdul Qadir During fruit initiation stage your vines are affected by Melon Fruit Fly . Now you can't do anything. Install pheromone traps in flower and fruit set stage is the only effective measures against this pest.

My watermelon is ready for harvest in 7 days for 1st picking. Should I carry on fruitfly insecticide? And till what stage watermelon fruit is susceptible to fruifly attack?

Abdul Qadir Now no need to install traps. Melon Fruit Fly may be a problem before fruit attain 300 gm size.
