Blossom drop
Other
The plant blooms, but then the flowers often die and fall off. Sometimes, before falling, the flower stems turn yellow.
Organic control mainly involves taking preventive measures. Make sure to check if plant growth regulators are permitted for your organic products. If so, read the guidelines for chemical control.
Farmers can keep more flowers on their greenhouse plants by using special sprays like GA3 or NAA. It's important to spray the flowers at the right time, just as the instructions say. Keep in mind that these sprays might not always work because many different things can affect flowering. This isn't a fix for every problem.
Flower drop can be caused by factors that disrupt pollination and plant health or by the absence of pollinators. Both low and high temperatures, as well as low and high humidity levels that are not ideal after the flowers are pollinated, are important causes. Too much nitrogen encourages leaves to grow instead of flowers, leading to poor fruit development, while too little nitrogen results in weak vines that can't support fruit. Not enough water stresses plants, and too much water can suffocate their roots causing blossom drop. Thrips and mites damage plant tissues causing flowers to fall off, and fungal diseases stress plants which also leads to dropped blossoms.
