Blossom End Rot - Tomato

Tomato Tomato

V

I seem to have blossom end rot due to magnesium and calcium deficiencies in my kratky Roma tomato system. I have corrected the system as of two days ago, but still am waiting for the problem to resolve itself. I'm using the general hydroponics Flora series. My main question is, why are some of the leaves brown, not the yellow ones. This system thinks that's late blight, but these are inside. Also, will the tomatoes affected by blossom end rot permanently have a rotted bottom, or will it go away? Thanks!

Some leaves look like a magnesium/calcium deficiency, so do the blossoms with some affected by blossom end rot, but some leaves also are dry and brown, which this system identifies as late blight, even though this is an indoors kratky hydroponic system. Any ideasm

Hi Valeska, May I know you adopted DWC or Ebb and Flow Hydroponic system. What was nutrients mix for Epsom salt source and what is the Light? MH or LED?

Your diagnosis as Blossom end rot is correct though, blight is not sure because lesson seems localized alongside margins.

Lights are LED, close to natural light in terms of color. It's a a kratky system, so it's just a container with the nutrients dissolved in water. The pH is about 6 and the nutrient mix is the general hydroponics 3 part Flora series, so that should include the components of epsom salt, it's supposed to be complete. As I said, I have increased the nutrient concentration as of three days ago now, but I haven't noticed any change and that worries me. When should it start to change? How do I know if I overdid it? Thank you so much!

Hi Valeska, Seems like that there's most possibilities of being associated with over doses and the container being closed having no air circulating system like Ebb and Flow or DWC, the roots might have been affected out of excess TDS. Pls add pH down that is acidic solution in order to lower the pH and fix it to 6.4 to 6.5 Hope that it helps😊 Pls use this type of multiple buckets, DWC with air circulating unit, Ten Green Fingers, available on Amazon, or NC, USA.

Two photos, with and without flash. Any idea why this is happening now? This is midways up the plant.
