Hi Suresh Gollar , Sikandar Nawaz This is an aqutic insect. It is the naiads of dragonfly fly (odonata). Both Nymph (naiads) and adults are predators and beneficial for our farmers. No need to worry Sikandar Nawaz . They are not resemble to Grasshopper in any case.

Sikandar Nawaz Since dragonflies eat mosquitoes and other insects, they help gardeners and outdoor enthusiasts. This also helps the environment, because it allows humans to reduce the use of pesticides to kill these insects. Dragonflies can also be used to help diminish diseases spread by mosquitoes, horseflies and deer flies by releasing dragonflies in areas where infestations of these insects exist. These insects spread such diseases as malaria, yellow fever, dog heartworms, anthrax and tularemia. However, dragonflies are voracious and indiscriminate eaters, so they might eat other species that are beneficial.

Sikandar Nawaz Mosquitos are the dragonfly’s favorite food. And since mosquitoes are typically found near stagnant water, this is where you’ll find dragonflies most commonly. Gnats, aphids, midges, grasshoppers, flies, you name it, and the dragonfly will at least attempt to eat it. This is especially helpful since many insects they like to munch on like munching on your vegetables. Their sharp eyes can spot even the tiniest insects crawling about in the leaves of your garden. Like a wraith in the night, they’ll swoop down and chomp it before it ever had a chance to react. If you have a heavy enough population of dragonflies attracted to your garden, then we can almost guarantee you’ll see a dramatic decrease of harmful insects and bugs in your garden over a period of a week or so.
