Spider Mites - Potato

Potato Potato

A

Hello my potato plants are not looking well lately please help if possible!!!

Some of the plants themselves are falling over. The leaves are heavily spotted with white dots and yellowing discoloration. And the leaves are very weak- not brittle- but they easily tear apart. I have examined the leaves for pests and I do not see any infestation. My first thought was aphids, but I don't see any on the underside of the leaves (or the top). These plants are about 2 months old and have been hilled three times, going down to a depth of about 2 feet. Please help!!

Venkat Pawar. Thank you for your reply. That is a very likely case because we have had such dry weather. The only think is I don't see any webbing. Is it possible to have a spider mite infestation without any dusty webs? Can I show you my other plants in the same garden that appear to be similarly infested?

These are my pole beans and cucumbers. They seem to be similarly infected with something or have a similar nutrient deficiency. Thank you for your help! Any other differential diagnosis would also be helpful. Is there any sure way rule spider mites in or out?

Aimee Mites attack just initiated and surely you will find webbing within few days. For effective control of mites first spray water (nearly double quantity) and after two hours spray Acaricide like Speromesifen or Abamectin.
