Two more questions... Also, why are the peppers dry? I got this as a gift, but i have no idea of these are edible or decorative. Any way to tell the difference?

Hello Jamey Banks, thanks for contacting the Plantix community, from the photo it looks like Potasium deficiency, please check our link Deficiencia de potasio for more information and recommended treatments, cheers,

I do not observe dryness, as for the peppers, you can eat them, some pepper plants are used as decoration because of colors sizes, etc

Hi Pablo. I put in a water softener and filter for the whole house. Do you think that could be why? Thank you for the advice. I'm ask for something at my local Home Depot. I hope that does the truck!

If the water softener uses salt it might not be so good for irrigation hence it will impact on plants as long as it's not too high, but from my experience, the pepper suffer from mineral deficiency

Pablo, I love your knowledge! Thank you for taking the time to answer all my questions. Can't wait to try out the chili. There are a couple that are dry, but I'll take it as a good sign that the rest look healthy. My friend didn't know how I should care for them, so I've been watering them daily until a little water comes out of the bottom, and I've been keeping it outdoors. It gets a lot of sun, but because it's next to the fence, it also gets shade. Hope that's good enough...what do you think?

Water softener does use salt, but I will give that potassium a try. Very excited about that 😃

Watering every other day is ok unless it is really hot, also better irrigate the soil and not sprinkle the leaves

You must be a professional plant caretaker! You know so much, and as a newbie, I appreciate your experience a lot. Thank you. However, I don't know what it means the irrigate the soil or to sprinkle the leaves. Can you simplify that for me please? Thank you!

Hi Jamey, I mean most of "us" irrigate plants with a hose, I always recommend irrigating via drip line or with the same hose but directly over the ground not over the leaves/plant, thus to avoid fungus and other pathogens that thrive on humid leaves, hope it makes sense, cheers
