why are my capsicum leaves turning dark purple?
Grown from seed indoors, they were vibrant green until about 2 weeks ago they started slowly turning purple. Interestingly, other pepper plants i had in lower light settings remained green. I've used miracle grow plant food per instructions, half strength when they were younger.

Hello Nick Murray, I'm supposed to believe that high light intensity could be associated with such damage in tissues. It's clearly visible that the leaves show a burning appearance and I think average room temperature was also high compared to the atmospheric climate.. Right? Secondly, the soil mix and the container look to be inappropriate for the easy growth of pepper. You need to mix some garden soil and sands to make the compost less compact and porous, so aeration takes place to root rhyzophere quickly. If the exit hole does not work, the growing media will be muddy that is very detrimental to root to create suffocation. The impact ultimately caused discoloration of leaves with subsequent wilting appearance. So, I suspect light intensity and inappropriate soil mix. Pls select an earthen pot 10" dia and 8" deep that is appropriate for a pepper plant. Hope that it helps 😊
