This is due to high temperature and Thrips attack. As the tiny thrips can not bear or face high temperature effect, they take shelter underside of chilli leaves or foliage. They voraciously suck sap to recover from water shortages during the hot climate, as a result, chilli plant leaves come forward to protect for what the leaves become deformed with upwards curling. You can't make it 100% recovery or correction methodology, however spray in the evening a formulating product of acaricides like Abamectin or Propergite. Gautam Initial care and monitoring is important. Some farmers already know that Thrips will attack, so they keep some acaricides stored in advance and apply from the beginning. That is a great milestone for healthy crop like chilli. If this idea makes a reasonable sense to you, pls let me know your views on what is called acaricides?

No do not have knowledge of acaricide and need to explore it. Sali

Acaricides are group of chemicals that suppress mites and ticks, however it can be used against thrips. Best practice so far found is from a biological product like Spinosad which is derived from naturally occurring bacterium. The bacterium lives deep into the soil, but we can culture that in the controlled environment of laboratory. Sali what's your view of use of microorganisms as Insecticide and fungicide? Are they really effective or just hyped?

Gautam Would you please mention the name or scientific name of micro-organisms? Say, bacillus thurengensis is a product derived from micro-organisms. We can control caterpillars of internal feeder or endemic pest by applying this product. Besides, NPV, Nuclear Polyhedrosis Virus, or Trichoderma viridae etc.

Gautam Micro-organisms and bio-agents are latest innovations, so these methodology needs immense carefulness and insights for implementing the effectiveness. For example, many indian farmers use Trichogramma wasp to control borer pest of pyralidae or lepidopteran insects. This is a most sophisticated technology to suppress many pest by this tiny insect creature. So, all these biological methods going popular all over the world.
