Hi Garner, Thxs to share ur problem with community, This is corn smut disese occurred through ariation & remain presence in soil.If comes it regenarats up to 6-7 yrs.So crop rotation must done.i.e. it also cereals loving.Destoy disesesd part/debris to outside the field bcze animal dung also recycled these.

Es causado por un hongo carbón del maíz (Ustilago maydis) . Propio de suelos arcillosos con mucha humedad. Fungicida captan + carboxin preventivo. No sembrar en altas densidades. Para permitir que entre aire limpio al cultivo

Ustilago maidis. En mi país se come, y llega a alcanzar mejor precio que el maiz. 1 kilo ha llegado a valer mas de Cinco dolares. Aquí ha visto reducida su aparición, por el uso de Híbridos mejorados.
