It is a grape plant - its leaves are having elongated holes, on the entire plant.
Grape l cheaves have elongated holes on the leaves surface, on close scrutiny there is no insect to be seen. What could cause this elongated holes as though slit by blade.

Mr. Gollar, thank you for the prompt response. I am afraid it is not what has been suggested. It is a elongated perforation (cut in the leaf) unlike leaf miner which leaves white lengthy traces has no see through cuts. I wonder what insect would cut like that.

Thank you Ram Sridharan. But its almost similar to Leaf Miner Flies symptoms. Now you check any insect presence in white perforations end. Because in Leaf Miner Flies numerous species effect on crop, which some some time not visible, without seeing carefully. Just check.

Suresh Gollar Yes Sir, I checked, spent atleast two hours going from leaf to leaf, couldn't find any insect, just a centimetre long narrow tear on the leaf, as in the photo. Anyway,it is unique to this place called Hosur near Bangalore. There are so many pests of different species one wonders whether they evolve specially for this area. Anyway, if you come accross similar query from.some other place, you can co-relate and find a solution. Thank you.
