Panama wilt. Controlling this disease is expensive and difficult. An intensive and determined effort can help reduce the severity of the infection. 1. Start immediate pseudostem injection of 1% Carbendazim or Propiconazole. 2. Follow up with a soil drench around the base of the plant with the same solution as in step 1. 3. If drip irrigation is available, apply the same solution as above 200 ltrs per acre. 4. Broadcast entire farm soil surface with Trichoderma and Pseudomonas. Following all the above steps will arrest the further spread of the disease. Above steps are to be administered every 15 days to ensure control. Importantly you cannot stop this treatment as long as you are growing bananas as the fungus can survive in the soil for more than 20 years. As your farm slowly recovers chemical control should be phased out and replaced with more practical and economic biological methods of control. As of now this is the only most effective way of control I have experienced. Finally please use common sense and judicial judgement and decisions based on careful observation and monitoring of your farm

Copper Oxychloride ( COC) is not effective against fusarium wilt. Please don't waste your money and effort trying.

Pruthvi Raj The stem injection is important to try and arrest the fungal growth inside the plant. The following steps are required to control the fungus in the soil.

Suku what is the mixing proportion of carbendazim with water?

Pruthvi Raj 40 ml per litre of water if you are going to use Bavistin 50% EC. My recommendation is to use 20 ml Carbendazim and 20 ml Propiconazole per litre of water. This combination worked best from my personal experience.

The Panama Wilt fungus spreads very rapidly. Please take immediate action. Injection is vital to help plants recover.
