I have seen leaves like these on almost entire block of orchards (other than mine). Half of the leaves have fallen. Remaining are in various stages as seen in pictures.i have sprayed for woolly aphid (acetaprimid 20%). I couldn't find any remaining colonies of aphids. I think it's alternaria leaf spot (not sure though). Kindly help.

Brown spots in leaves, yellowing, seems burnt on edges.

Hi Gaurav Chauhan, It is due to fungal infestation. I suspect it is Anthracnose of Apple

Thanks for the input Shahzaib Kashan Just one issue tree bark is clean, no signs of canker (classic symptoms are not visible yet, but I will keep an eye). Also that doesn't explain yellowing of leaf.

Hi Gaurav Chauhan . Apart from above, lets check for Apple Mosaic Virus and Apple Scab too by clicking on green links given here for checking symptoms and taking control measures from Plantix library.

Suresh Gollar thanks for your responce. Now that you point it out scab seems to me more plausible of the two you mentioned. I have seen similar symptoms in every other orchard block. So, do you think fungicides could help retain leaves till autumn (though I sprayed a week ago as a preventive measure)

Hi Gaurav Chauhan . Good to, know you pointed out it. Let's see the response of your plants after your spray. Otherwise take, one more spray keeping 10 to 15 days gap between last spray, depends upon response of your orchard plants as you said.

Suresh Gollar Sir, I will keep an eye. If the all leaves fall, how do you think it will affect the tree next year. I have not seen leaf fall this early so I am unaware regarding how the trees will behave.

Gaurav Chauhan The brown spot is alternaria blight. Yellowing with black spot is marsonina blotch.. If there is more yellow leaves you can immediately spray tebuconazole 80 gm in 200 Lt of water.. It will drpp all the infected leaves and stop further infection.

Vinod Dholta Thanks. I have sprayed fungicide a week ago. I will wait for a week to see if there is an improvement or another application is required.

Vinod Dholta mancozeb. I also used sulphur (as fungicide as well as micronutrient). I will check within few days, if no improvement I will use fungicide you mentioned.
