Symptoms

In the beginning, brown, round and powdery pustules can be found on both sides of the leaves. As the disease spreads, these spots can also be seen on stems on pods.

Trigger

Rust on chickpeas is favoured by cool and moist weather conditions. Rain is not essential for a development of the Rust. The disease mainly occurs later in the growing season.
